We're predicting that 2015 is going to be a big year for Jennifer; but instead of reading The Secret or any other self-help book, she's choosing to get her guidance from some... untraditional sources.
First on her list is Kid President's Guide to Being Awesome by (you guessed it) 11-year-old Robby Novak, Kid President. If you're not familiar with Mr. Kid President, you must have missed his infamous YouTube videos in 2012, including that time he found himself in the Oval Office with the adult-sized version of the Commander in Chief. Since then he has been meeting with all sorts of celebrities and gathering the definitive guide to making the most of your life, no matter how young or old you are. This book promises 100 ways to change the world; we're optimistic that the kids who read this guidebook will find something that sparks their imagination and drives them to do something awesome.
Release date: February 3, 2015
The next item on Jennifer's list of most-anticipated reads in the coming year is Pete the Cat's Groovy Guide to Life by Kimberly and James Dean. Taking advice from Pete the Cat or his human creators is probably a good idea - in 2013, this series sold an impressive 2.9 million copies, and became a highly-demanded title in every school and public library throughout the United States. Groovy Guide to Life promises the titular character's always-hilarious take on some of the most inspirational quotes from history.
Release date: April 7th, 2015.
The final title on Jennifer's list for 2015 is one that you can already find on the shelves, though it'll make a great book to share with children as winter rolls on and we all start feeling like we want to hibernate... it's Goodnight Already! by Jory John and Benji Davies. If this book - in which a grumpy old bear tries to tune out his pesky next-door neighbor, a duck, so that he can get some sleep - has half as much wit and humor as John's previous book, All My Friends Are Dead, it'll be sure to crack you up just before bedtime.
